Missouri school district employees sue over 'equity' training

Two employees of Missouri's largest school district are alleging that so-called "equity" trainings violated their constitutional rights by forcing them to endorse certain beliefs about race – adding to the already-mounting legal scrutiny of attempts to push critical race theory (CRT) and its associated ideas. Full Story here.

This is likely to be the first of many lawsuits by teachers, parents, and students throughout the state challenging the implementation of critical race theory in Missouri public schools.  Because many of these programs are being funded with taxpayer dollars in taxpayer funded schools plaintiffs will be allowed to make constitutional arguments against the state-sponsored teachings.

Conservative Candidate for State Senate Ben Brown Joins Marc Cox

Ben Brown made waves as a restaurateur for his opposition to government shutdowns and mandates over the last year.  Now, he is running for senate to replace term-limited Dave Schatz in Franklin and St. Louis Counties.  Brown joined Marc Cox this morning to talk about his opposition to the gas tax, why the Franklin County Republican Central Committee censured Schatz, and more.

Moderate State Representative Aaron Griesheimer announced last week he would also be seeking the republican nomination.  Griesheimer was a strong proponent of the gas tax and is the son of well-respected politician John Griesheimer.  The Griesheimer family has been in serving in office since 1982.

Fitzpatrick is being challenged by State Representative David Gregory who recently announced an endorsement of his own by the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police. Gregory announced the endorsement with Joey Patterson, Executive Director of the St. Louis County Police Association. Gregory was an early and major supporter of Patterson’s campaign for State Representative, but Patterson failed in the republican primary to Navy Veteran and, now, State Representative Michael O’Donnell.

Former Missouri GOP Executive Director to lead education reform group

This month the American Federation for Children announced Jean Evans will serve as their new Missouri State Lead. Earlier this year, Missouri created a $25 million Education Savings Account program that provides eligible students $6,350 for educational expenses to attend the public, charter, virtual, private, or home school of their choice. Evans will lead the efforts of the Missouri Federation for Children to make families across the state aware of this new educational option.

The AFC has a long history of working to provide parental choice in education in Missouri schools and throughout the country.  Senator Andrew Koenig, Representative Phil Christofanelli, and other members of the Missouri Conservative Caucuses have been leading the fight for education reform in the state.
