BREAKING: Griesheimer to Resign Today
Rep. Aaron Griesheimer will announce today that he plans to resign on January 6. Griesheimer was the only current challenger to conservative Senate candidate Ben Brown. Griesheimer stated in his announcement that he would instead take a job in the private sector and resign from his position in the Missouri House on January 6th to allow him the chance to say goodbye to his colleagues in session.
The rumor mill is already swirling with who might replace Griesheimer as the moderate choice in the race. One name being mentioned is former State Rep. Dave Hinson who now is a associate county commissioner for Franklin County. Hinson had less than $2,000 on hand at the end of his last report.
Representative Jeff Porter named House Transportation Committee Chair
Porter will take lead of the House Transportation Committee next month. Porter, a Republican representing parts of Warren and St. Charles counties in the lower chamber, served as vice-chair of the committee last session. He was appointed by Speaker Rob Vescovo, who touted his experience with transportation-related issues and his tenure on the committee.
Porter replaces Rep. Becky Ruth, who resigned from her position in the House to take over as the new director of the Office of Child Advocate.
Missouri Chamber to Push for New Port in St. Louis Region
The team behind American Patriot Holdings’ Plaquemines Port, located at the mouth of the Mississippi, filed a letter of intent with the Jefferson County Port Authority to establish the project last month. The operation will need to be formalized in a legal agreement before the project could officially begin.
Missouri ranks No. 10 among other states in terms of navigable water with more than 1,050 miles, according to a report compiled by the chamber. The system brings more than $100 billion in revenue into the state annually.

Pandemic Reduces Polarizes Medical Advice
From 2010 to 2021 we’ve seen a flip in the confidence of medical advice coming from doctors, by party. Republicans now have less confidence in the medical advice being received while democrats are reporting more confidence (according to a poll conducted by Gallup).
The politicizing of Covid-19 appears to be the culprit with democrats turning people like Dr. Fauci into pseudo-celebrities among their base. See below a recent ad by the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee attempting to collect emails and donations on the premise of Fauci’s Birthday.
