The Case for Senate Pessimism
MOScout is the Jeff City gossip column. This week they quoted and analyzed Jim Lembke’s note from Monday’s Report titled “The Senate Civil War”.
In response to the comments made in MOScout, Jim Lembke writes:
MOScout is the Jeff City gossip column. “The Swamp” pays close attention to the inside baseball. The hallways of the Capitol overflow with special interests that are beside themselves as their clients legislation goes down in flames. The “disfunction” of the senate makes them look bad and they are not happy. In politics, everyone needs a villain. To the swamp that villains are the Conservative Caucus. The Establishment only cares about getting more laws passed that take away our freedoms and liberty.
This civil war will continue until the Conservatives are in control of the senate. So what does peace look like when real republicans are driving the bus?
The answer, is the MOGOP platform. The policies that will be championed will protect Life, Liberty and property. We will see budget reform, education reform, limited government and the reform of broken government programs.
The problem is not that we don’t have enough republicans, we don’t have the right leaders. When leaders start governing in a way that reflects republican principles, others will follow their lead.

In Hawaii, Gov. David Ige is proposing to use his state's surplus to issue $100 refund checks….Continue reading here.
