Former Senator Jay Wasson Announces Bid for 7th Congressional District
Jay Wasson has officially announced his bid to replace Congressman Bily Long who is running for U.S. Senate. Wasson recently termed out from the Senate where he was known as being one of the biggest proponents of tax credit programs and a solid yes-man for senate leadership. It comes as no surprise that former Senate Leader Ron Richard will be serving as his treasurer. Wasson joins current Senators Mike Moon and Eric Burlison along with Doctor Sam Alexander in the race. The Joplin Globe reported on how his opponents responded to the news.
Dr. Alexander’s Response: “I’m running for Congress to fix our nation. I’m not a career politician. I’ve spent my entire life working on the farm, helping people, creating jobs, and solving problems. While the politicians in D.C. fuss and fight, our nation slips deeper in debt, criminals and drugs flood across our borders, small businesses and working families struggle to make ends meet.”
Senator Burlison’s Response: Burlison said he had received the endorsement of the House Freedom Fund and that he would join the House Freedom Caucus if elected.
Senator Moon’s Reponse: Moon echoed some of the same concerns as Wasson and said: “It is obvious that the federal government needs to be reined in. I think most people would say beyond a doubt that the federal government spends way too much money.”
AOC Cries When She Doesn’t Vote Against Israel – Bible Saw It Coming
By Defense of Liberty Founder, Paul Curtman
This last week the U.S. House of Representatives voted on a bill which included a measure to support Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system with several billion dollars. In spite of the political rhetoric that often surrounds the debate over anything to do with Israel, both republicans and democrats usually come together to vote to support Israel. This last week however, the group of young Marxist democrat congresswomen known as ‘the squad’ made a fuss against the leading support to the Iron Dome and they all voted against the bill – that is, at first. For reasons unknown, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also referred to as AOC, changed her vote from “NO” to “PRESENT” before the vote was finalized. In a video clip taken from the floor of the House of Representatives in the moments after she changed her vote, AOC can be seen looking upset and soliciting the comfort of another congresswoman who hugs her and tries to console her. It isn’t exactly clear what it was that was upsetting AOC enough to cause other congresswomen to pull her close and hold her tight but all indications seem to point to her own actions of having voted “PRESENT” when she had originally intended to vote “NO.”
Why does the “squad” seem to hate Israel so much? Why would AOC become visibly upset by choosing to vote someway other than “NO?” It’s a real mind bender but it shouldn’t come as any surprise. For example, One member of the “squad,” Congresswoman Cory Bush of Saint Louis, MO, compares Israel to oppressive police officers and we all know what she wants to do with police – make them go away.
Vulnerable Democrats On Edge While Pelosi Waivers Between Squad and Caucus
First Nancy Pelosi stabbed the socialist caucus in the back by promising to hold a vote on the “infrastructure bill”, now it looks like she might stab her vulnerable members in the back by breaking her promise to hold a vote to kowtow to the socialist wing of her Democrat party. Here’s how vulnerable Democrats feel about that…
Texas Rep. Vicente Gonzalez: “Obviously, our group will have a lot of trouble with that. And it will be catastrophic.” (The Hill)
Oregon Rep. Kurt Schrader: “That’d be foolish on their part… That would indicate they’re not playing fair in the sandbox. … It would be a travesty if they try to play games.” (POLITICO)
Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin: “I feel more confident now that it will pass. But God forbid it didn’t, we’d have a real problem.” (Washington Post)
Florida Rep. Stephanie Murphy: “If the vote were to fail tomorrow or be delayed, there would be a significant breach in trust that would slow the momentum in moving forward in delivering the Biden agenda.” (Associated Press)
Pennsylvania Rep. Susan Wild: “It’s a huge concern of mine… If you don’t get at least one of these bills done — specifically the hard infrastructure and preferably both — we are at substantial risk next year.” (The Philadelphia Inquirer)
New Jersey Rep. Josh Gottheimer: "The date was something we voted on, and every single Democrat in the caucus supported it. And it's a rule, it's not just a press release … and the Speaker publicly committed to getting the votes for it.” (Axios)
New York Rep. Tom Suozzi (On SALT cap repeal): “If it doesn’t happen, I’m going to look like an idiot.” (Bloomberg)

Yes, Virginia Parents Should Tell Schools What To Teach
Rarely are the differences between two candidates for public office perfectly crystallized into a single minute of debate. But such a minute transpired Tuesday night in Alexandria, Virginia, during the gubernatorial debate between Clinton-fundraiser Terry McAuliffe and businessman Glenn Youngkin. Asked about the Virginia Department of Education policy that allows anyone to use whatever restroom they want regardless of their biological sex, Youngkin responded, “What we’ve seen over the course of this last 20 months is our school systems refusing to engage with parents. In fact, in Fairfax County this past week, we watched parents get upset because there was such sexually explicit material in the library they had never seen. It was shocking.” “And in fact," Youngkin continued, "you vetoed the bill that would have informed parents that they were there. You believe school systems should tell children what to do. I believe parents should be in charge of their kids’ education.”
“I’m not going to let parents come into schools and take books out and make their own decisions," McAuliffe replied. "I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” And there you have it. Youngkin believes parents should be in charge of their kids’ education. McAuliffe believes parents shouldn’t be telling schools what they should teach. That is the difference between the two candidates in the Virginia governor's race.
