Parson Panders on Pandemic with new EO

Governor Parson released a new executive order this week that he touted as a “ban on vaccine mandates” across the state. The problem is the executive order essentially does—nothing. The “ban” only applies to state employees who were already not being mandated to take the vaccine. This was seen as a slap in the face to the dozens of conservative legislators that called for a special session to actually address the mandates occurring across the state. It was met with swift, bipartisan criticism.

Senator Bill Eigel: “ It appears to me that this executive order does nothing it only covers the 50,000 state employees in Jefferson City does not cover any private sector employee nor does it cover any public employee that's employed by a local government like the city of St. Louis so the cops in St. Louis are going to continue losing their jobs and anybody that works from Boeing to hospitals in the state are going to continue losing their jobs this is a classic do nothing piece of crap from Governor Parson”

Dogan Releases Commanding List of Endorsements in Race for County Executive

Shamed Dogan released a large list of bi-partisan endorsements in his campaign to be the republican candidate for St. Louis County Executive.  The list included a who’s who of republican leaders showing they have coalesced around Dogan as their preferred candidate in the race.  It also included several St. Louis County Mayors who have been frustrated with Page’s handling of covid.

“These endorsements show that a cross-section of St. Louis County Republicans and independent municipal leaders are willing to unite to defeat Sam Page and bring new leadership to St. Louis County,” Dogan said.  “These leaders know that I am a common-sense conservative who has worked across party lines to get things done while serving in Jefferson City.  We are building a strong coalition of Republicans, Independents, and Democrats as we head into next November and I am honored to have their support.”

Physicians Rally Around Dr. Sam for CD-7

In an open letter to their colleagues, more than 30 physicians issued a letter to the medical community urging them to support Dr. Sam Alexander for Congress in his effort to replace Billy Long who is running for Senate. In part, the letter read:

We as physicians are increasingly confronted with obstacles in the business of medicine that are beyond our control. These include frequent cuts in Medicare reimbursement despite an inflationary environment that relentlessly drives our overhead like increased staff wages and insurance costs upward. Insurance companies continue to impede our ability to provide effective patient care in the form of prior authorizations and other regulations. Burdensome governmental regulations affect patient care and add to our overhead. All these obstacles occur in the setting of a litigious society with plaintiff attorneys looking for every possibility to litigate physicians. Sam Alexander MD has practiced in Southwest Missouri as an emergency room physician for over 30 years. We know he grasps the difficulties physicians face in this increasingly challenging business environment. He understands the implications of decreasing physician reimbursement on the quality of care we can provide our patients. He has endured the same frustration many physicians, like ourselves, have in dealing with insurance companies and burdensome regulations. He understands the need for tort reform.

Dr. Sam’s work ethic, leadership and communication skills will make him an asset to the other physicians who are members of Congress. I am asking that you join me and many others in the medical community in supporting Dr. Sam Alexander for Congress. You will be joining hundreds of others who are committing money, time and helping share his message to others.

After much speculation, former State Representative Robert Cornejo announced on facebook that he would be running for Associate Circuit Judge in St. Charles.  There are several Associate Circuit positions open and Cornejo has filed for the 11th Division. He teased a “big announcement” coming Monday in the release.

Fitzpatrick Targets Biden’s IRS Proposals in First Auditor Ad

Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick touted his opposition to the Biden administration’s proposed IRS reporting standards in the first ad for his state auditor campaign. The 30-second ad, released Thursday, highlighted the proposal that would require financial institutions to report information on personal and business accounts with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) if they exceed $10,000 in incoming or outgoing cash, known as inflow or outflow, respectively  Fitzpatrick, who has been adamantly opposed to the proposed IRS changes, argued the possible requirement was “about control over people’s lives” and unveiled a petition to halt the changes.

“We will never quit in the fight against Joe Biden’s terrible IRS proposal to gain access to your private financial records,” Fitzpatrick said in a statement. “I encourage every Missourian to join our effort. Together, we can put a stop to this reckless plan.”

Former Senator Brian Nieves Hosts New Radio Show ‘The Patriot Enclave’

Nieves launched his new program, “The Patriot Enclave,” on Real Talk 93.3 FM in August. Nieves, who hosted another radio program a decade ago, said he accepted the opportunity to return to the air when the station’s owners vowed to allow him a “long, almost non-existent leash” to speak his mind.

“The No. 1 thing about the show is that it is, at its core, a call to action. It’s all about being the resistance and standing up to stupid crap that’s going on right now,” Nieves told The Missouri Times. “These are the things we want to cover every day: What is it like to be the resistance, what do we have to do, and where do you fit in as the resistance?”

Andrew Cuomo Charged with Misdemeanor Sex Crime

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has been charged with a misdemeanor sex crime for forcible touching. The Democrat was charged in Albany City Court Thursday, a spokesperson for New York State Court has confirmed to Fox News. "A Misdemeanor Complaint against former Governor Andrew Cuomo has been filed in Albany City Court" the spokesperson said in a statement. "As this is a sex crime, a redacted complaint will be available shortly." Mariann Wang, an attorney for Cuomo accusers Alyssa McGrath and Virginia Limmiatis celebrated the news in a statement Thursday. "My clients are enormously grateful for the courage of the women who have come forward to speak the truth about Cuomo’s misconduct," Wang said. "Cuomo is being held to account as he should be, including by being forced to answer a criminal charge. We hope that all men who abuse their power by abusing women will see this and understand that there will be real consequences to their profoundly damaging behavior." The misdemeanor complaint describes forcible touching as when a "person intentionally, and for no legitimate purpose forcibly touches the sexual or other intimate parts of another person for the purpose of degrading or abusing such person, or for the purpose of gratifying the actor's sexual desire."

Survey Favors Huckabee Sanders in GOP Primary

Sarah Huckabee Sanders holds a commanding 57-point lead in the Arkansas GOP primary and is viewed favorably by 78% of Republicans in the state, a public research study concluded. “Arkansas is clearly ready for bold, conservative reforms that will take us to the top, and I am grateful for the thousands of Arkansans who stand with me as our campaign continues to gain more and more momentum,” Sanders said. The campaign recently announced more than $11 million total raised, and county coordinators in all 75 counties across Arkansas. Click here to see the full survey results.

Biden's Build Back Better 'Framework' Will Fail

President Joe Biden unveiled a shrunken reconciliation package on Thursday in a last-ditch effort to get Congress to pass his domestic agenda. It will fail for the same reason it hasn’t passed already: It is still too far to the left for the likes of Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona but not far left enough for progressives. Biden’s new “framework” for $1.75 trillion, half of the $3.5 trillion Democrats wanted to spend, is an attempt to meet both sides of the Democratic Party in its middle. The bill would include investments in child care and universal preschool, Obamacare credits, affordable housing expansions, higher education, and clean energy. Notably, the bill does not include paid family and medical leave, free community college, expansions of other Medicare benefits, such as dental and vision, and the ability to lower the cost of prescription drugs. It’s still $1.75 trillion the government shouldn’t spend. Democrats might disagree on that point, but there’s no guarantee they will be able to reconcile their differences long enough to actually write the check. Sinema and Manchin have not committed to voting for it, according to The New York Times, and the No. 2 Democrat in the Senate admitted on Thursday morning he’s not sure whether he’ll be able to get all 50 Democrats behind it. Meanwhile, in the House, top progressives are vowing to tank Biden’s other domestic proposal, a bipartisan infrastructure bill that already has the backing of the Senate, if Manchin and Sinema don’t come around on reconciliation.
