More on MRL Endorsements
Source MO Scout
I wrote on Saturday that word was spreading that Missouri Right to Life PAC had endorsed challengers to Republican incumbent senators seeking re-election – all of whom would be deemed pro-life by any reasonable standard. I’m told the full endorsement list will be made public some time today, but I’ve also learned that… Former Rep. Bryan Spencer has received the sole endorsement in Senate 10. Rep. Mary Elizabeth Coleman has received the sole endorsement in Senate 22
Meanwhile lots of pro-life folks in the capitol have shared thoughts souring on MRL…It’s ducking insane. They are denying legislators who voted for the trigger law to Roe… Seriously just ducking nonsense. MRL’s obsession with ancillary issues will not end well. Instead of taking a well-earned victory lap, they choose to attack core supporters in an attempt to stay relevant. Absolutely insane.
And one notes that last cycle Holly Rehder Thompson prevailed over Kathy Swan even though MRL went with Swan.
The 100 Insider: Both endorsed individuals are Candidate Spotlights of The 100 PAC Fmr Rep. Bryan Spencer and Rep. Mary Elizabeth Coleman…
Concern over 'COVID Gap' sending kids back to the classroom for summer school
Summer school enrollment in local districts has increased by as much as 13 percent this year — a figure school officials said could be a reaction to students’ learning loss resulting from the turmoil of attending school during the COVID-19 pandemic. Before enrollment started for summer school this year, educators at St. Clair R-XIII were nervous that summer school enrollment would decrease this year as families try to make up for lost vacations from the previous two years. But, 1,037 students have signed up for the cost-free summer school this year, compared to last year’s figure of 918.
Kruse said it is a “very reasonable explanation” that parents want their children to catch up academically after losing ground from being quarantined, taking classes virtually or on a hybrid-learning schedule. A McKinsey & Co. analysis showed that the COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc on America’s education system, with students an average of five months behind in mathematics, four months behind in reading and widened preexisting opportunity and achievement gaps.

Voter Registration Coordinators Needed — Important August Primary Elections Are Fast Approaching
By Bev Ehlen, State Director Missouri Concerned Women For America
It is very apparent that the “winds of change” are becoming ever more crystallized in Washington D.C. and Missouri, sweeping reforms are being discussed that will impact our society for decades. Our Christian faith teaches us that we are to be “salt and light” to the world and to “speak the Truth in love.” This “Truth” is God’s Word which embodies the Godly morals and principles by which a just and free society thrives. This “Truth” influenced many of our Founding Fathers as they drafted our Constitution and framed our form of government.
As Christian believers, it is our privilege and duty to carefully and prayerfully choose our spiritual shepherds to guide, lead, and reveal Biblical Truth to us for our protection and well-being. Likewise, as Christian citizens, it is our privilege and duty to carefully and prayerfully choose our leaders in civil government for our protection and well-being. The first step in choosing leaders in civil government is a small one – registering to vote! Sadly, about half of U.S. churchgoers are not registered to vote. Millions of Christians are forfeiting their privilege to have their voice heard and the Christian’s position on a variety of issues that directly impacts our society. In Missouri alone, it is estimated that there are more than 100,000 Christians who are not registered to vote. Conducting voter registration in churches is the first step in encouraging church members to be good Christian citizens. According to the IRS, church voter-registration drives are well within the 501c3 guidelines and even encouraged, as long as they are non-partisan.
Will you volunteer to be a Voter Registration Coordinator for your church or area?
Details: We provide the voter registration materials. We provide easy to follow instructions. To volunteer, call Bev Ehlen at 314-608-0168 or email director@missouri.cwfa.org.
We suggest a voter registration effort on the following weekends:
For the August 2 Primary Election: June 18 and 19, June 25 and 26, and July 2 and 3. For the November 8 General Election: October 2 and 3 and October 9 and 10. (These are the weekends before the last day one can register to vote or change one’s address for those elections).

New 2020 IRS Migration Data Reveals Florida Is The Biggest Winner, New York Is The Biggest Loser, In The Competition For People And Their Wealth
Wirepoints 50-state survey
Every year, states across the country compete with each other for people and their wealth as millions of Americans move between states. The stakes are large. A growing population for the winners means an increasing tax base, economic growth and investment. For the biggest losers, it means more difficulties in paying down debts, higher taxes and fewer investments for the future.
The nation’s most-recent winners of migration from other states are Florida and Idaho according to the latest migration data released by the IRS. Florida, the nation’s perennial winner, gained the most people and income overall in 2020, while Idaho gained the most of both on a percentage basis.
On the other end of the competition are states that have become perennial losers. States like California, New York, Illinois and New Jersey once again experienced some of the nation’s biggest losses of both residents and their money.

Economic Lesson of the Day – Protecting Industries from Competition Never Works
There is so much upside-down economic logic in DC these days (e.g., more government spending will reduce prices) that sometimes we feel like we need to go back to the basics. We are going to from time to time borrow from the latest edition of our friend Mark Skousen’s wonderful book “The Making of Modern Economics,” to relate timeless economic lessons. Here’s one of our favorites from the French economist Fredric Bastiat (we have edited it down a bit from the original): Gentlemen, We are suffering from the ruinous competition of a rival who apparently works under conditions so far superior to our own for the production of light that he is flooding the domestic market with it at an incredibly low price; for the moment he appears, our sales cease, all the consumers turn to him, and a branch of French industry whose ramifications are innumerable is all at once reduced to complete stagnation. This rival, which is none other than the sun, is waging war on us…
We ask you to pass a law requiring the closing of all windows, dormers, skylights, inside and outside shutters, curtains, casements, bull's-eyes, deadlights, and blinds — in short, all openings, holes, chinks, and fissures through which the light of the sun is wont to enter houses, to the detriment of the fair industries with which, we are proud to say, we have endowed the country, a country that cannot, without betraying ingratitude, abandon us today to so unequal a combat…
