[Listen] Sen. Rick Brattin Election Extravaganza
Senator Rick Brattin joined Wake Up Springfield this morning with host Tim Jones to discuss his run for Missouri’s 4th congressional district. Brattin explained why he was running and why you should vote for him: “I’m a Christian, constitutional conservative in that order. I realize what’s at stake. We’re going against the radical communist party that’s looking to take America out. This is a true fight for America. As a marine I swore an oath to protect and defend that. And I will never waiver in that and in my oath of office. I’m sick and tired of the RINO’s that are willing to squander our God given liberties and freedoms because they want to go to all the cocktail parties and be loved and liked by all…”

I guess we should be concerned that the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is keeping their district accountability system on hold for another couple of years, but does it really matter? Should we be holding our breath with anticipation as DESE fiddles, once again, with the metrics they use to determine whether school districts in the state are accredited?
Let me put it another way: If I told you that last spring, upon DESE’s recommendation, the State Board of Education reinstated fully accredited status to Kansas City Public School District, where 12 percent of students scored at a Proficient level or higher in math and 25 percent did so in English/language arts (ELA), what would be your takeaway? Would you think any more highly of the district knowing that it has DESE’s seal of approval? Or would you think instead that accreditation must not have much to do with how successful the district has been at preparing students to succeed?

Late $$$ From Rowden PAC
The pro-Caleb Rowden PAC, Missouri Foreward, pushed some late money - $90K – into the Senate 26 race aiding Bob Jones. And Missouri Forward is running Facebook ads against Suzie Pollock, running against Sen. Justin Brown in Senate 16. They hit her on voting to raise her salary while voting against higher police salaries.
The 100 Insider: Ben Brown is fighting to defeat Bob Jones. He has received support of The 100 PAC because he’s a conservative through and through. If you would like to help his campaign and and hold a “Ben Brown” sign at a voting location tomorrow please email Bev Ehlen at bevehlen@yahoo.com.
