King Page Strikes Again
Sam Page has unveiled a new mask mandate this morning after the county was blocked from enforcing a previous order. The new order mirrors the attempted reinstated mandate in July: The mandate includes all individuals over the age of 5 years old, even those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19. Face coverings while outdoors will be encouraged.
AG Eric Schmitt responded on twitter: “This tyrannical forced masking effort is once again illegal. As I’ve said from the beginning of this ordeal & our successful efforts to stop this power grab— The people of STL Co are citizens, not subjects & I’ll continue to fight back for the people & for the cause of freedom.
Johnson OUT in CD-4
Long-time Republican Activist and Associate Cass County Commissioner Ryan Johnson has ended his congressional bid citing more time with family.
“The past three months I’ve talked with thousands of Missouri voters who agree that Washington is broken, and the failed policies of the Biden administration are making it worse. We need to have a real conservative leader in Congress representing Missouri’s 4th congressional district. However, it has also become very clear to me in the last three months that for this stage of my life, being Dad to my kids is more important right now than running for Congress. Becky and I have a few short years left to make a real difference in the lives of our teen daughters and young son. In a decade, I would rather look back and be able to say that I invested my time in my children than winning a campaign.”
Remaining candidates currently are Kalena Bruce of Stockton, Taylor Burkes of Columbia, and Sara Walsh of Ashland.
Curtis Trent Announces State Senate Bid to Replace Eric Burlison
Curtis Trent is running to replace Eric Burlison who is running for congress in Missouri’s 7th District. Curtis has been an active member of the conservative caucus in the House and narrowly lost a bid to become House Floor Leader. Trent is the first candidate to officially declare for the seat and reported more than $139,000 cash on hand at the end of the latest reporting cycle. Rep. Tricia Derges, who faces multiple federal charges related to stem cell treatments and pandemic funds, has said she’s considering running for the seat.
Honest Elections Project Fighting To Make It Easy To Vote, Hard To Cheat
Elections are the cornerstone of democracy, but their legitimacy is under attack. Election laws that protect against fraud and corruption are being challenged in court and denigrated in public. Politicians are questioning the legitimacy of the elections they lose. And activists are advocating radical plans to reshape elections for partisan gain. Most Americans know that voting is too important to be politicized, but their wishes and views are too often being drowned out or ignored.
That’s why the Honest Elections Project exists. We are a nonpartisan group devoted to supporting the right of every lawful voter to participate in free and honest elections. Through public engagement, advocacy, and public-interest litigation, the Honest Elections Project will defend the fair, reasonable, common sense measures that voters want in place to protect the integrity of the voting process. Above all, the Honest Elections Project is here to support the voting rights of all Americans—rights which hinge on an electoral system that ensures every lawful ballot is counted, and which guards against fraud.
Preserving the integrity of our democracy should be an issue above politics. That’s what American voters want, and the Honest Elections Project is here to make sure they get nothing less.
