Onder Speaks Out Against Proposed Senate Rule Change

The Democratic leader of the senate has proposed a rule change that would make it harder to move the previous question to end debate on legislation and call it for a vote.  The change would require 10 Senators, instead of 5, to sign a call for the previous question and would make approval a 2/3rds vote instead of a simple majority. The proposed change will be discussed on the senate floor on Monday.

Senator Bob Onder

@BobOnderMO

#mosenate Dem’s proposed a rule change on the “previous question” motion. Though a somewhat arcane topic, it would effectively make it impossible to pass prolife, 2A, election integrity, religious liberty, or labor reform bills. #moleg

Tim Jones on with Dan Bongino

Tim Jones – January 6, 2022

Tim Jones of The Tim Jones and Chris Arps Show was on with Dan Bongino today to discuss media censorship, our YouTube ban, and the growth of platforms like Rumble.

This week, NewsTalk STL was told by YouTube that we could not stream on their platform for the week and had a strike against our account. Our story is like many others. This issue has happened to accounts, mostly conservative, on YouTube constantly. We said something they didn’t like and they deemed it misinformation. Without giving us an exact example of why we had this strike, we wrote an appeal to the platform asking them to elaborate and plead our case. The appeal was denied.

We reached out to Dan Bongino after we started the process of setting up our Rumble account. Rumble is the alternative to YouTube, where free speech is the main objective and no suppression of thought exists.

Bongino invited Tim Jones on his radio program to discuss our YouTube account being taken down for the week and the new opportunity that Rumble and new social media platforms present for our future.

A Missouri State Rep is Becoming the Face of the Antiabortion Movement

This interview will be on “St. Louis on the Air” over the noon hour Friday. This story will be updated after the show. You can listen live.

Mary Elizabeth Coleman is a St. Louisan, a mother of six, and a representative in the Missouri House. She’s made it her mission to end abortion in the state — and wants to eventually end it on the national level, too.

Coleman introduced a bill last year modeled on the wildly controversial Texas law now working its way through the court system. Coleman’s version, like the one in Texas, would allow citizens to sue anyone who seeks out, provides, or helps someone get an abortion, essentially banning abortion as soon as a heartbeat is detected (generally around six weeks).

She believes motherhood is empowering, and that it no longer has to stop women from living their lives. She’s adopted a slogan from Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch: “Empower women, promote life.” She used the phrase as the title of her new bill.

Coleman has been able to parent her six children with the help of her husband in the St. Louis suburbs while working as a representative in Jefferson City. While she says motherhood is empowering, critics point out that not everyone has the resources she has to go through pregnancy and raise children.

Congressman Billy Long has become the first sitting member of Missouri’s congressional delegation to speak out against a proposed 6-2 Map.  Long is currently running for United States Senate.  In a tweet Long expressed his support for a 7-1 map.

Billy Long @auctnr1

7 and 1 makes 8, 6 and 2 makes No Sense! #Missouri becomes more ruby red every year and yielding to the #Democrats on our Congressional map makes no sense. What are they thinking? “When the going gets tough, the tough get going” Situation becomes difficult, strong people step up.

Parson Not Planning to Grant Ashcroft’s Request for Special Elections

Gov. Mike Parson does not plan to grant Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft’s request for special elections to fill the six House vacancies at this time. Ashcroft sent a letter to the governor on the opening day of session asking him to issue writs of election to fill the Republican vacancies. Without those six seats, House Republicans do not have a supermajority.

Parson said this is the first time the secretary of state has made such a request. A spokesperson for Ashcroft confirmed his Wednesday request was the first.

Voters Believe American Society and Culture Declining, Poll Says

A new poll finds that most U.S. likely voters believe American society and culture is in decline — including large majorities of self-identified Democrats, Republicans and independents. The survey by the Trafalgar Group revealed that 76.8% of respondents from all political affiliations said that “American society and culture is in a state of decay,” compared to only 9.8% who said “a state of progress.” The remaining 13.4% said they were unsure. Voters on both sides of the aisle are unhappy with the current state of hot-button social and culture war issues for different reasons, said pollster Robert Cahaly, who founded Trafalgar Group in 2016. “Social and cultural decline is in the eye of the beholder, but what’s clear is that everyone is unhappy,” Mr. Cahaly said. “People on the left think America isn’t ‘woke’ enough despite the pushback and people on the right think America is too ‘woke’ in a way that’s being pushed on them.” There’s also a middle segment of voters whose views are reflected by comedians like Jerry Seinfeld, who the pollster noted has announced he won’t do skits on college campuses anymore for fear of getting “canceled.”
